The Wakefield Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to our communities and the businesses that make them great places to live and work.

VISION:
As the voice of the Wakefield, Lynnfield and the surrounding areas’ business communities, the Chamber is an advocate for polices and programs that promote a positive business environment.  The Chamber works collaboratively with like-minded organizations, as well as state and local government, to educate and support the business community and nurture entrepreneurship.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to make a positive impact in by promoting general business interests as well as civic, economic, and social welfare of the communities.

THE BUSINESS OF TODAY’S CHAMBER
Every year, the Chamber answers thousands of questions about the area’s organizations, institutions, lakes and trails, cultural activities and businesses, including requests for local business referrals. Chambers of Commerce are a common source of information for visitors, customers, prospective and existing businesses.

We connect businesses to local events so they can participate. We respond to local and state issues that affect business. We sharpen business skills with educational opportunities and we are an intermediary for business counseling services. We introduce people to the businesses and organizations who can provide referrals, become your suppliers or your customers, and offer valuable information.

Whether your business is a service, a retail outlet, a commercial institution, manufacturing, or a civic organization, you need inputs and outputs from a larger environment.  The Chamber will help build your network and keep the transactions flowing.

CHAMBER HISTORY
The Wakefield Chamber dates back to 1934. It came about when the Wakefield Expansion Board, working to bring diversified industry to the town, expanded its scope to promote the interests of the commercial community. The new corporation was organized to “further and promote the general business interests and the civic, economic, and social welfare of the people of Wakefield, Massachusetts.” (Source: Bertrand, Nancy, ed. Wakefield: 350 Years by the Lake , Wakefield: Wakefield 350 Inc., 1994)

In 2014, the Wakefield Area Chamber broadened its focus to include the neighboring community of Lynnfield, becoming the Wakefield Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce. It is an alliance that brings more diversity, but both towns are great places to live and do business!
